If you are travelling with children from Leeds Airport use this helpful guide. Many parents or guardians find flying with children quite stressful so read on for some tips.

Flying With Children ...

This guide shares tips and advice when travelling with children from Leeds Airport. For example, how to get family seats on the plane, how to save time at the airport and leaving home in plenty of time.

Family Seats ...

Once you've booked your flight ask about the airline's policy for family seating.

The chances are you'll be offered a bulkhead seat that has facilities for families with young children and babies. However you need to check if these seats need to be pre-booked or if you need to check-in promptly for your flight if they are allocated on a first served basis.

Leaving Home On Time ...

You need to make sure you leave home on time so you will arrive for check -in not only on time but not stressed - the perfect start to your holiday.

So firstly work out how long it will take to get to Leeds Airport when travelling with children, as remember it will take more time with children in tow, plus lots of extra suitcases. Prepare for any route changes to your journey in advance, any road works or diversions. Double check your road map is in the glove box too. Then try and leave at least thirty minutes before.

Parking & Check-in Tips ...

Do pre-book your airport parking so you don't waste time and end up checking in late just because you couldn't get parked.

Meet and greet parking is the best car parking option when travelling with children from Leeds Airport. This service will mean you don't have to get your children on and off a transfer bus, especially helpful if flying with children at night.

Simply unload your luggage (and children!) right outside the airport terminal and go to check in. On your way home, your car's waiting right outside the airport terminal. You meet and greet Rep takes care of everything for you. Taking your car off to the car park and bringing it back for you. Easy!

Always ask at check-in, if you haven't got a bulkhead seat, when flying with children from Leeds Airport, if the flight is full. If not, get your family seated next to some empty seats so you all have a little bit more room.

Do be ready for boarding when called so you can get the children settled and you can spend more than with the cabin crew should you need any assistance.

Baby Foods - where to buy abroad ...

Where to Buy Food & Water For Babies

Travelling overseas with either a young baby or small toddler can cause anxiety for parents - how and where will buy your baby foods. What water can you give them to drink safely?

Worry not. As in the following section we provide help and advice on purchasing your baby food essentials whilst away including foods and nappies and provide essential advice on safe drinking water for baby.

Do try and pack a certain amount of baby foods in your suitcases so you can use these straight away. This is so you can arrive safely at your destination and get settled before rushing off out in a blind panic trying to find formula – it’s especially worth packing some pre-bottled packs of formula milk too - or jars of baby food etc.
Bottled Water For Babies

Don't give your baby or children any tap water to drink. It's dangerous and will upset their tummies. You need to buy bottled water for your baby to drink. However, you also need to check its sodium levels. When buying bottled water it’s very important to check that the water brand you are buying contains less than 30 Na of sodium. Water for drinking can be given straight from the bottle, however, for making up formula milk you need to boil it, just as you would in the UK. It's worth noting also, that if you’re travelling to Spain, and some other European Countries, that many of their pharmacies sell specially distilled water for babies.
Powdered Formula Milk

You can purchase formula milk in a pharmacy but the brands we know of in the UK are rebranded when sold overseas - Cow & Gate is called Almiron in Spain for example. For more information about buying your particular brand of milk overseas you should call the telephone advice line on the pack of your milk packet.
Baby Food In Jars

It's easy to find and buy baby food in jars. Just check out your local supermarket, although if you are somewhere remote then try a larger main supermarket. All should stock a good range of baby foods and snacks. As will most pharmacies. Hero is a very available baby food in Spain and across Europe. Hipp is also readily available as are products from Nestle.

Nappies

You can buy nappies in almost all supermarkets where you'll find the main brands like as Pamper and Huggies readily available. It’s important to note that in many European Countries cotton nappies are very rare, particularly in Spain, so if you normally use re-useable nappies then you may need to consider using disposables whilst you are away.
